Senior Alert Systems and Medical Alert Devices FAQ

    1. Do You want a Home-Based or Mobile System?

Initially, medical alert systems were developed to work inside your house, with your landline telephone.

And you can still go that route. Lots of businesses now also provide the option of home-based systems that work over a mobile network, for those who might not have a landline.

With these systems, pushing the wearable call button enables you to speak to a dispatcher through a base system located in your house.

But, lots of businesses use mobile alternatives, too. You can utilize these systems in the house, but they’ll also enable you to call for help while you’re out and about.

These operate over cellular networks and incorporate GPS technology. By doing this, if you get lost or push the call button for help, but are not able to talk, the monitoring service can locate you.

  • Should You Add a Fall-Detection Function?

Some businesses use the alternative of automated fall detection, for an extra regular monthly cost. Producers say these gadgets pick up falls when they happen and immediately get in touch with the dispatch center, just as they would if you had actually pressed the call button.

  • Whats the Cost?

Charges. Beware of complex pricing plans and concealed costs. Try to find a company with no extra costs related to equipment, shipping, installation, activation, or service and repair work. Don’t fall for rip-offs that offer free service or “donated or utilized” devices.
Contracts. You must not need to enter into a long-term agreement. You must just need to pay continuous month-to-month fees, which should vary between $25 and $45 a month (about $1 a day). Be careful about spending for service ahead of time, because you never understand when you’ll need to stop the service temporarily (due to a hospitalization, for example) or permanently.
Guarantee and cancellation policies. Search for a complete money-back guarantee, or a minimum of a trial period, in case you are not satisfied with the service. And you’ll want the ability to cancel at any time with no charges (and a complete refund if regular monthly charges have currently been paid).
Discounts. Inquire about discount rates for several individuals in the exact same family, in addition to for veterans, subscription companies, medical insurance or through a hospital, medical or care organization. Ask if the company provides any discount rates choices or a sliding cost scale for individuals with lower incomes.
Insurance coverage. For the a lot of part, Medicare and private insurance companies will not cover the expenses of a medical alert. In some States, Medicaid might cover all or part of the cost. You can contact your personal insurance company to see if it provides discount rates or recommendations.
Tax deductions. Consult your tax professional to find out if the expense of a medical alert is tax deductible as a medically essential cost.

Dale is an unincorporated community in Caldwell County, Texas, United States.[1] The settlement had a population of 500 in 2000.[2] It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.

Dale was named for the valley in which it is located.[2] The Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad arrived in 1880 and the town's post office was granted that same year. Within five years, Dale had a population of 75. The town had three stores, a gristmill, and a cotton gin, which shipped cotton into the community. By 1914, Dale had a population of 250 and 15 businesses, but this declined to 200 between 1925 and 1943. The 1936 county highway map showed several homes, two churches, several businesses, and a seasonal industry in the community. Dale reached its population zenith in 1947 with 275 residents but then decreased to 126 from 1970 to the early 1990s. It had 14 businesses at that time. Its most recent population estimate was 500 in 2000.[2] Its population then shrunk back to 126 in 2010.[3]
