Senior Alert Systems and Medical Alert Devices FAQ

    1. Do You want a Home-Based or Mobile System?

With these systems, pushing the wearable call button permits you to speak with a dispatcher through a base system situated in your house.

However, lots of businesses offer mobile options, too. You can utilize these systems in the house, but they’ll also permit you to call for help while you’re out and about.

These operate over cellular networks and integrate GPS technology. By doing this, if you get lost or push the call button for help, however are unable to talk, the monitoring service can locate you.

Guarantee and cancellation policies. Look for a full money-back warranty, or a minimum of a trial duration, in case you are not pleased with the service. And you’ll want the ability to cancel at any time with no penalties (and a complete refund if regular monthly charges have already been paid).
Discounts. Ask about discount rates for numerous people in the very same home, along with for veterans, subscription companies, medical insurance coverage or through a hospital, medical or care organization. Ask if the business provides any discount alternatives or a moving charge scale for people with lower incomes.
For the most part, Medicare and personal insurance companies will not cover the costs of a medical alert. You can examine with your personal insurance coverage company to see if it provides discount rates or referrals.
Tax deductions. Consult your tax expert to find out if the expense of a medical alert is tax deductible as a medically necessary expenditure.
